Parker is introducing a new variable frequency AC10 Micro Drive which offers straightforward yet adept motor control in everyday applications requiring speed or torque control within the power range of 0.2 to 15kW. One of the smallest micro drives available, typical applications for AC10 are set to include conveyors, centrifuges, fans, mixers, packaging machines and textile machines to name but a few.
Offering compact dimensions and features normally only associated with higher specification drives, AC10 provides an optimised drive for OEM machine builders seeking a cost-effective option without any compromise in performance. Among the many functional benefits for AC10 Micro Drive users include auto-tuning sensorless vector mode, which takes the device beyond simple V/Hz motor control. This advanced feature allows users requiring greater dynamic speed or torque control for their application to benefit from the drives enhanced 0.5 per cent speed and 5 per cent torque accuracy.
Other important features include output frequency up to 650Hz, three-phase 400V supplies in all five-frame sizes and a full 150 per cent overload for 1 minute. In addition, AC10 is designed to reduce the time and effort required to install, set-up and commission using its integrated keypad.
This new micro drive gives users the inherent energy-saving benefits of using a variable frequency drive, as well as the improved reliability and extended service life benefits associated with smoother starting and stopping of regularly cycling loads.
