Pilz Automation Technology has appointed Paul Kingston as a Consultant/Engineer working in the Services division.
Paul has a degree in manufacturing engineering and eight years' experience working for a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry designing and building sub-assembly systems. He therefore has an in-depth understanding of factory automation and an 'inside knowledge' of customers' requirements.
While with his previous employer, Paul studied for his NEBOSH general certificate, which supplemented his existing working knowledge of machinery safety standards. As part of the Pilz Competency Management Scheme, however, Paul will soon be attending the Pilz four-day City & Guilds course in machinery safety.
Pilz is currently undertaking a great many plant assessments for customers throughout the UK, so Paul is expecting to be working on these alongside the Pilz consultants. He will also be undertaking risk assessments and safety checks, and working with customers to CE mark machinery in accordance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive. In addition, Paul will be presenting some of the Pilz training courses.
