Pilz to launch new products at CPI Health & Safety Conference

Highlights of the two-day conference include a series of seminars covering issues that affect the paper industry, presentations on a variety of topics within process safety, sharing good practices, health and wellbeing, and regulatory issues including the sentencing guidelines as well as exhibits and two breakfast sessions.

Product launches

Whether making paper or converting it to tissue for family care products, the machinery used comes with a number of hazards. The threading of paper, the high rotation speed and the vast size of the machines create risks that prove challenging for achieving machine safety, and all while maintaining productivity.

Pilz will showcase two new products for better safety and automation in paper manufacturing.

PSENopt slim is the latest addition to Pilz range of safety light curtains and is said to be the smallest on the market, saving space and reducing the cost of the application (see photo above). The slimline design eliminates dead zones, thereby increasing the level of safety, while its cascading function protects against encroachment into and behind the protected area.

With a holding force of 7500N, the PSENmlock secure safety gate system prevents guards from accidentally opening, offering maximum safety (see photo right). The switch is particularly suitable for use on machines with a dangerous overrun where safe guard locking up to PL d or PL e is required.
