Places still available at power transmission symposiums

Bauer Gear Motor is offering industry professionals a free place at the Future-Oriented Drive System Engineering technical symposiums being held on 20th and 22nd November in Augsburg and Dusseldorf, Germany. This is billed as a "not-to-be-missed' event for any engineer, designer or maintenance professional involved in power transmission technology.

The programme includes a guest speaker, who is an expert on future drive technologies from the University of Applied Sciences, as well as the official announcement of the results of one of the first "real-world' independent field comparison efficiency tests to be made between an IE4 Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and a standard Asynchronous Motor (ASM) in the same application.

The key-note speaker at the event is Prof. Dr-Ing. Hans-Peter Grnberger, University of Applied Sciences, Esslingen; he will be supported by Yasar Yce, Product Manager and Head of the Bauer Gear Motor Academy and Markus Kutny, technical sales and applications at Bauer Gear Motor. For further details on the event, or to learn about other events near to you, please visit www.bauergears.com/Events.asp to download a Gear Motor Academy flyer, or speak to one of Bauer's expert sales team.

Bauer Gear Motor is a pioneer in the development of efficient gear motor products, and the company believes that knowledge is a resource which should be shared; as such, it holds regular symposiums and training days throughout the year which are open to anyone who wants to advance their understanding of the industry.

Approximately 70 per cent of the electrical energy used in industrial applications is consumed by electric motors. As such, new regulations have been brought into categorise and control the efficiency of motors. The new directives mean that future oriented drive systems will play an important role in industry over the coming years.

The symposium will discuss current and near-future technology, then compare the energy balance of induction motors and cutting edge PMSMs operating with frequency inverters and with gearboxes, including the results of a direct comparison test to prove the potential cost savings that new PMSM IE4 motors can offer now and in the future.

Bauer's first "Future Technology' Symposium is on the 20th November 2012 held in Augsburg. The date of the second "Future Technology' Symposium is the 22nd November 2012, held in Dusseldorf.

Visitors can reserve a place at either of the Future-Oriented Drive System Engineering technical symposiums; follow the link for the registration page, or simply email your details directly to [email protected].
