Pneumatic cylinders provide precision control of valves or louvres

Satron PISTOR power cylinders from Plus Automation utilise a 3 bar feed pneumatic supply to precisely position a cylinder exerting 1200N and a moment of force of 360Nm for a cylinder with a 300mm throw. Double the input supply to 6 bar and the output forces also double to exert 2400N and a moment of force of 720Nm.

These precision cylinders use an internal feedback system to provide an accuracy of ±2% or better and offer a sensitivity of 0.3%. For example, applying a control signal pressure of 0.6 bar will extend the 150mm cylinder, half of its travel to 75mm, whereas the full 1 bar, will fully extend to 150mm, etc.

Because the PISTOR cylinders are completely pneumatic controlled and operated, there is no electricity is involved, making them ideal for explosion-hazardous environments where ATEX is required.

PISTOR is offered in two sizes, either 150 or 300mm maximum stroke. Its robust construction uses an aluminium epoxy powder-coated body and a stainless steel piston rod to provide a reliable long service life.
