PPMA Ltd (the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association) is running a Practical Machinery Safety Seminar PUWER (Provision and Use of Working Equipment Regulations), on 3 July 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Northampton.
This seminar is aimed primarily at machine buyers and users:
However, it could also be useful for machine designers, field/service/maintenance engineers, sales engineers, senior managers, project managers and quality control managers - or anyone else concerned with machinery safety.
The one-day seminar will provide attendees with a thorough understanding of their responsibilities under this legislation and what it does and does not cover.
Subjects covered include: the need for machine risk assessments; machine inspections; conformity with Directives (both European CE Marking and the possible new UK CA Marking regime, depending on the outcome of the Brexit negotiations); PUWER Regulations 11 to 24 in detail; an introduction to functional safety; and user requirements specifications.
Other seminars planned by the PPMA for later in 2019 cover topics including the Machinery Directive, machinery risk assessment, machine guarding, robotic safety, functional safety and CE audits.
Detailed information about the PUWER seminar and other seminars and training courses is available on the PPMA website, together with registration forms.
