Pre-Formed Windings moves into extended production area

Pre-Formed Windings manufactures a broad range of medium- and high-voltage windings for large electric motors and generators. In recent years the company has grown dramatically, now exporting over 45 per cent of production. The new investment in production facilities enables this growth to continue, by improving the company's ability to compete in global markets.

With the high level of demand for Pre-Formed Windings' products, the new production area is already in use. The official opening was performed on 11 September 2008 by Deritend Industries MD, Richard Hale. Unveiling a plaque to commemorate the occasion, Mr Hale said: "In today's depressed economic climate it is more common to hear about company closures and cut backs, than new investment initiatives. That is why our expansion is good news for British engineering; it proves that growth under difficult market conditions is still possible."

Vernon Fletcher, Operations Director for Pre-Formed Windings, says: "The other good news is the job opportunities for specialist personnel and support staff resulting from our new investment in facilities, and the fact that the expansion corresponds with the company's 40th anniversary. This milestone proves the dedication and skill of the staff that have worked here over the years. We are confident that our new production initiative will help us build upon these skills, enabling us to meet our goals of sustained growth and profitability over the next 40 years."
