Process, print and packaging inspection systems on show
Stemmer Imaging will be showing its latest imaging and inspection technologies on Stand D70 at the TOTAL Show, which takes place at the UK's NEC from 4-6 June 2013. The company will be exhibiting vision components and systems for processing, packaging, print, coding and labelling applications, with various products having standalone or integrated inspection capabilities.
A new, scalable multi-camera vision system, the Teledyne DALSA GEVA-300 (pictured above), provides low-cost process inspection capability. The GEVA-300 compact vision system supports up to six GigE Vision cameras coupled to an Intel dual-core ATOM architecture for image processing and measurement that offers excellent performance for a wide range of inspection applications. Vision systems are set up using iNspect or Sherlock application software, which both offer a wide selection of tools and capabilities for positioning, identification, verification, measurement, and flaw detection. GEVA-300 is compatible with a wide range of GigE cameras, which can be mixed to suit the application need.
A new approach to industrial web inspection comes from the Mitsubishi KD contact image sensors for machine vision applications. These new sensors have a working distance of 12mm from the front face, an improved depth of focus and a machine vision standard CameraLink output. The 12mm working distance allows products with more variable height to be inspected, such as printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed matter or LCD panels.
Another new development on show is a tool for Stemmer Imaging's Common Vision Blox imaging toolkit that provides print inspection capabilities on complex textured backgrounds.
