R. A. Rodriguez at Drives and Controls 2016, NEC Birmingham

The changing profile of R. A. Rodriguez will be very much in evidence at this year's Drives and Controls. The company's high level of technical competence has allowed it to continually grow its long-established engineering component and automation businesses and also resulted in the rapid development of its relatively new strand, robotics. So for the first time at the show, R. A. Rodriguez will have two stands: one for bearings, gears and drives, and the other in the show's Robotic Demonstration Zone.

For over 40 years Kaydon Bearings, an SKF group company, has provided the core of R. A. Rodriguez bearing offerings and naturally, a wide range of its ever popular Reali-Slim thin section bearings will be on display as well as several Kaydon custom bearings. Also featured will be examples from the R. A. Rodriguez own-brand bearings range and, in particular, turntable bearings which can meet the requirements of almost any application, technically and commercially.

New to R. A. Rodriguez in 2016 - and being launched at the show - is the Cone Drive range of Slew Drives and Harmonic Solutions. Complementing the turntable bearings range, the Cone Drive configurable Slew Drives are available in sizes ranging from 7" to 25". Bridging the bearings and drives product ranges, the Cone Drive Harmonic Solutions provide the ultimate in precision gearing. Their wave gear designs are available in a variety of industry standard drop-in replacements and custom configurations.

Completing the R. A. Rodriguez drive offerings will be the GROB Linear Chain combined with a Framo Morat geared motor. Visitors will see how its compact design allows the end user to actuate heavy loads by pushing and pulling over long distances, without the need for costly and bulky pneumatics.

KHK is now a long established R. A. Rodriguez brand and an extensive range of quality stock gears from this Japanese manufacturer will be on the stand. This growing range of stock gears is available from the company's online gear shop at www.rargears.com and will have promotions running throughout the show.

Drives and Controls 2016 will also mark the first public appearance by R. A. Rodriguez as the newly announced, preferred partner of Universal Robots. The association between the companies has spanned seven years and in that time R. A. Rodriguez has demonstrated its capacity to engineer customer specific automation systems. Indeed, the approach has resulted in a 300 per cent increase in its Universal Robots sales in the last year.

The family of lightweight, 6-axis Universal Robots will be demonstrating how they provide the basis for human and robots to work collaboratively - without the need for safety guarding - to reduce payback and increase productivity. The supporting range of Robotiq grippers will also feature.

Visit R. A. Rodriguez on Stand no. D780 and in the the Robotic Demonstration Zone at this year's Drives and Controls, or go to www.rarodriguez.co.uk for further information.
