NRG digital SSRs with Profinet interface to reduce unplanned machinery downtime
Carlo Gavazzi is pushing ahead with the development of products that meet the needs of Industry 4.0, says the company, referencing in particular the NRGC-PN.
“The NRG platform is focused on optimising manufacturing operations quickly and efficiently,” says the company, “providing the user with more cost-effective processes, real-time data monitoring, prevention of machine breakdown and accurate troubleshooting.”
The NRGC-PN interfaces directly with the main controller of the system, using PROFINET communication, “providing fast commissioning times as devices are configured by the system, direct access to device diagnostics and real-time time data, which can support improvements to operational and enhance processes, as well as reducing system integration costs”.
Visual indication
The NRGC-PN needs to be supplied with 24 VDC and the LEDs on the front facade give a visual indication of the status of the NRGC-PN, of any ongoing communication with the main controller and the RG..Ns on the BUS chain and of any alarm condition related specifically to the NRGC-PN.
The NRG Series is said to be right for machine builders, “whereby data collection and remote access have become top priority, satisfying the requirements for any heating application where reliable and precise maintenance of temperatures are crucial to the quality of the end product”.
Typical applications include plastic machinery, such as injection machines, extrusion machines and PET blow moulding machines, packaging/wrapping machinery, sterilisation machinery, drying tunnels, large continuous processes and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and are CE, UL, VDE, EAC and CCC certified.
