Reali-Slim bearings to benefit from changes in manufacturing
Kaydon is rationalising its bearings manufacture in the USA. In conjunction with the substantial expansion of its Sumter factory to meet growing demand for thin-section custom bearings, the company will discontinue its operation at Mocksville.
The consolidation of all thin-section manufacturing in Sumter will provide Kaydon's UK distributor, R.A. Rodriguez, with an enhanced service for all its customers' needs. The facility will provide improved capability, adding flexibility in the manufacture of multiple bearing steels. Quality systems will also be enhanced. Certification to aerospace standard AS9100B was achieved earlier in 2010, and NADCAP accreditation is currently being pursued.
