Reciprocating nozzles clean and dry delicate parts

A new drying/cleaning technique designed for conveyor applications demanding vigorous air movement action is being introduced by Air Control Industries. It is particularly appropriate where product might be vulnerable to contact or surface damage.

Based on ACI's cost-efficient, blower-powered AirKnife technology, the new system employs a bank (or banks) of flexible nozzles that move back and forth across the conveyor while delivering high volumes of air at low pressure. This simple reciprocating action, combined with high-volume, low-pressure air delivery, effectively dislodges residual moisture or debris trapped in awkward places, thereby achieving greater efficiency.

The nozzles, which are fabricated from a material that is both flexible and hardwearing, are said to be simple to fit and adjust. The flexibility of the material means the nozzles may be struck or deflected by travelling product without risk of damage and then return immediately to their normal operating state. This last feature permits air to be delivered closer to the product for further enhancement of the drying/cleaning functions.

ACI's new system is excellent for drying/cleaning many different products, including: automotive bodies/components, food products, crates, and large, intricate engineered components.
