Reliance Cool Motion Stage offers accuracy and stiffness

Driven by a precision rolled anti-backlash lead screw, the RCMS provides high linear accuracy, reliability, good torsional stiffness and stability relative to its compact size.

Employing a closed-loop drive system, it has a fully programmable 32bit RISC CPU, 50,000-count magnetic encoder, vector drive, amplifier, H-infinity tuner and on-board power management. The combination of the on-board power management, vector drive and high-resolution encoder ensures smooth, cool motor operation.

The Reliance Cool Muscle motor on the stage can be easily programmed to network with other Reliance Cool Muscle motors, saving cost and space where system synchronisation is required. Networks can provide simultaneous and/or co-ordinated motion linking up to 15 motors on RS232, or 3825 motors on RS485. The RCMS system can be configured to use software limits and/or a home search technique using a hard stop/bumper, thereby eliminating the need for limit switches.

Intelligent, compact and capable of high speeds, the RCMS is useful for multi-axis positioning systems, high-speed linear positioning systems and other motion control applications.
