Reliance expands opto-mechanical assembly facility
Growth in its opto-mechanical business has led Reliance Precision to invest in a further specialist clean assembly area for the provision of sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defence, medical, scientific and analytical industries. This advanced optical integration facility represents a core expertise for Reliance, combining optical components with electro-mechanical technology.
The dedicated facility maintains the necessary disciplines and processes appropriate to working with precision optics. Certified to ISO 7 (Class 10,000) and supplemented by clean air benches to ISO 4 (Class 10), the paperless, electrostatic-protected area provides a highly integrated inspection, assembly and test capability.
Representatives from Selex Galileo and Gooch & Housego joined Reliance employees, directors and owners to celebrate the opening of the new facility. Andy Brown, VP Business Procurement UK at Selex, presented Reliance's Managing Director with a commemorative coin in recognition of the contribution made by Reliance. The achievement of aggressive growth, together with high levels of technical performance and quality, have been made possible by close teamwork between Reliance, Selex and Gooch & Housego in order to bring the essential mechanical and optical components together successfully.
