Reliance invests in design, development and test facilities

Reliance works in partnership with its diverse customers to design, manufacture and test precision components and intricate mechatronic assemblies for the aerospace, medical, high-vacuum, defence and scientific instrument markets.

The company gets involved in projects that need to have high accuracy, high reliability and high integrity. The ability to test products is vital both to ensure products meet the customers' ultimate objectives and to predict product performance in service.

Reliance's new eco-friendly building not only provides a comfortable 'green' working environment for Reliance employees, but the improved facilities will also help customers achieve a low lead time to market with new products.

Reliance has an underlying policy of long-term high investment and a commitment to responsibly managing the environmental impact of its operations.

One of a new generation of low-carbon buildings with minimum running costs and low carbon emissions, the new building has a very efficient heating system. Warm or cool air is relocated on demand and any surplus energy is retained in a thermal store embedded in the building.

Reliance was very proud to be awarded certification to the new environmental management standard ISO 14001:2004 in May 2005.
