Review Display Systems adds two tough tablets
Two tough, rugged and versatile RTC (Rugged Tablet Computers) by Aaeon have been added to the range available from Review Display Systems.
The RTC-600A is engineered for rough applications and harsh environments. The black tablet provides a 5.7" WXGA (1280 × 720) TFT LCD, with an LED backlight. The projected capacitive, multi-touch panel has Gorilla glass and the tablet is heat and cold resistant, shock and drop resistant and water resistant to IP-67. Designed with smooth, round edges, the tablet is able to withstand water, dust, sand, snow and mud, it is also MIL-STD 810G for gruelling environments.
Multiple connectivity options are possible, with WiFi a, b, g and n, Bluetooth 3.0, WWAN, 3G and LTE (optional). For positioning and navigation function, GPS and GLNOSS can operate simultaneously.
The RTC-600A is powered by an OMPA 4470 processor from Texas Instrument and has an LPDDR2 1GB SDRAM. The Li-polymer, high capacity battery life is up to eight hours, which can be extended, using a swappable battery. Operating on the Android 4.2.2 OS, the tablet is suitable for mobile computing operations.
The second addition to the range is the RTC-700. This versatile and rugged tablet also has a choice of connectivity, with WiFi a, b, g and n, Bluetooth 4.0, as well as support for NFC and RFID. It is supplied with a 7" WXGA (1280 × 720) TFT LCD and is powered by an Intel Atom 5-Z8350 quad core processor operating at 1.92GHz, with a 2GB DDR3L-RS 1600 SDRAM. The RTC-700 is offered in different versions - with no top module, with physical COM and Ethernet ports, and a module with a 1D/2D barcode scanner, with a trigger button. An extra base module, with a magnetic strip and/or smart card reader, is also available. It can be used as a mobile HMI, eTicket validator, as a stock taking device or PoS system.
Like the RTC-600, the projected capacitive multi-touch panel uses Gorilla glass. For positioning it uses GPS/GLONASS simultaneously, and is heat and cold resistant, shock and drop resistant. It is water resistant up to IP-65 and is MIL-STD 810G-compliant.
A 10.1" version is also available. The RTC-700B has the Windows 10 IOT Enterprise OS and the RTC-700M has Android 5.1 OS.
