At the 2008 Drives and Controls Exhibition Rittal will be exhibiting its electrical automation software EPLAN Electric P8 and demonstrating how it can interface with Wieplan, the DIN Rail management system from Wieland. The joint operation enables terminal data to be immediately transferred from EPLAN into Wieplan where relevant part numbers are added, while also creating a scale drawing of the DIN rail. The drawing can then be transferred into EPLAN to populate the bill of materials.
EPLAN Electric P8 offers CAE with optional graphical and object-orientated design, with macro variant technology providing the ability to insert sections of circuits with up to eight graphical variants containing pre-engineered data.
Sophisticated technology and complete data transfer from EPLAN 5 and 21 enable applications to communicate directly with each other. By simply selecting the suitable variant, last-minute changes can be made that other project users can view instantly. The platform also includes functions such as a graphical editor for wiring schematics, a uniform rights administration system, viewer facility, online foreign language translation and a comprehensive revision management system
