Robust absolute multiturn encoder certified for ATEX and IECEx, zone 1/21

In hazardous locations where an explosive atmosphere may be present, it is of utmost importance that all components are designed to operate safely to reduce the risk of an explosion. Leine Linde's IHA 648 is an absolute rotary encoder in stainless steel certified according to ATEX and IECEx for use in zones 1 / 21. This is a robust encoder suitable for applications where extreme conditions, such as high temperature and pressure, a salty, corrosive atmosphere, and potentially dangerous levels of explosive gases or dust, are common.

Flameproof and high resistance to corrosion

The inductive absolute encoder is appropriate in oil and gas applications such as winches, cranes, top drives, and anchors for measuring speed and position. The flameproof encapsulation, flange, and shaft consist of a stainless steel material, EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L), which has a high resistance to corrosion. It is therefore suitable for demanding environments such as those common in marine and offshore applications.

With inductive scanning, the encoder is insensitive to impact and dirt, and is available at a total of 31-bit multiturn resolution. The interface selection is PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, SSI and EnDat.
