Robust and lightweight drag chain with metallised coating

Cable management specialist M. Buttkereit has expanded its range of cable drag chain systems with the PFR Metallised – a plastic chain with a protective metal coating.

The metallised surface provides the chain and the enclosed cables with protection from hot chips and swarf whilst also increasing resistance to scratches and wear. The chain offers cables a fully enclosed environment and the ingress of dust and debris is kept to a minimum. The robust design of the links maintains high levels of rigidity and provide protection from impact.

Additionally, the company says the smooth surface of the chain makes it ideal for applications in the food and medical industry where unhygienic dirt traps are to be avoided.

Director Martin Buttkereit commented: “The Metallised PFR is a perfect fusion between plastic and steel energy chains – far more robust and hard wearing than a standard plastic chain, whilst still remaining incredibly light and also giving a great optical impression.”

The PFR cable chain is available in eight different sizes in widths from 35mm up to 225mm. In built cable separation is also included in some sizes.
