Robust long-range photocell has easy set-up

The diffuse version, OIH, features background-suppressed sensing designed to detect dark objects as well as more reflective surfaces, and the big, visible red light spot makes this easy to achieve. Even more practical is the setting arrangement for the OIH. A dial on the top of the sensors provides a simple visual setting up to 800mm, with no power needed on the sensor, so intuitively the user can set it, fit it and expect reliable operation.

ifm's OI series are easy to install, too, with the integral M30 thread at the base. A fixed-range version of the OIH with 600m sensing is also available, avoiding any unintentional maladjustment. The same is true of the retroreflective versions, where no setting is required to achieve a range of 15m.

All versions are available for PNP or NPN, with fixed switching function.
