Harting is introducing a range of connectors for higher-density cabling for HD video signal-transfer applications in outside-broadcast vans and production trucks, as well as modular flight-case flyaway suites and de-rig systems.
The new Harting compact 75ohm coaxial contacts can be accommodated in DIN 41626 compatible four-way multi-contact inserts that fit in rugged IP65 Han-Modular series connectors. There are different coaxial contacts suitable for use with specific industry-standard RG-59 and lightweight RG-179 video cables, allowing SMPTE 292M HD-SDI 1.5GHz and up to SMPTE 424M HD 1080p/60 3.0GHz signal transfer. Associated crimp termination tooling is available on request.
Harting ensures controlled connector mating through the use of additional alignment guide pins and bushes in the Han B series of hoods and housings. Han Easy-Lock spring-loaded levers enable rugged and reliable connections and disconnections. The Han-Modular flexible mixed insert design concept enables video, audio and data (Ethernet) signal transfer to be integrated in one compact connector housing. A range of cable glands is available, and threaded entry areas can accommodate standard conduit fittings to maintain IP65 protection if separate mixed cables are used.
Key product features of the Harting range are HD-SDI and HD 1080p/60 video compliance, high packing density and improved cable management. Application benefits include fast setup and breakdown, reduced labour and lower costs.
