Safety interlocks use ASIsafe for signals and power

The new 3SE5 position switches with tumbler from Siemens Automation and Drives is claimed to offer improved safety for personnel and machinery in harsh industrial environments. The metal version offers higher locking forces of up to 2600N and, for the plastic version, up to 1300N.

Thanks to the integration of ASIsafe and power requirements of less than 170 milliamps, contact monitoring and control of the locking magnet are handled exclusively via the ASI data cable.

An optional status LED enables simple on-site diagnostics. The positioning switch is suitable for all requirements and is also available in a variety of different unlocking versions, such as unlocking and emergency unlocking.
