Safety light curtains are sealed to IP68

Virtually the entire range of Leuze Mayser safety light curtains and grids can now be supplied with protection to IP68, meaning they can cope with water jet washing. This opens up a whole new range of applications, particularly in the food, beverage and similar industrial sectors where stringent wash-down procedures are the norm.

The new development enables Leuze Mayser to support many varied and diverse safety requirements - where the light curtain becomes an integral part of the machine offering close-up protection through to safety barriers operating across large access points over 60m wide. Also appealing to many customers will be the fact that the IP68 rating even extends to Leuze Mayser safety light barriers with muting, which is a very much sought after configuration for protecting staff working within the confines of high-speed processing lines.

Leuze Mayser product ranges such as Compact, CompactPlus with its ProfiSafe capability for easy networking, Robust and ECO, described as the baby of all light curtains, offer IP68 sealing. This creates a very broad range of safety options from finger, hand and whole body protection, as well as controlling large access points.

The IP68 rating adds to the already high specification of Leuze Mayser safety light curtains and grids, which are renowned for their robust build and excellent operational performance. Furthermore, because the light curtains are built at the company's factory in St Neots, UK, Leuze Mayser can respond quickly to specific needs, whether a new project or upgrade.
