SATIR G96 thermal imaging camera features detachable display

SATIR Trade UK is launching a new version of the SATIR G96 professional thermography camera, which benefits from an improved specification and functionality, thereby expanding the usability and application. Moreover, it is claimed to be one of the most cost-effective cameras with such as feature-rich specification.

At the heart of the SATIR G96 is a high-performance 640 x 480 resolution UFPA detector with 307,200 effective pixels to deliver excellent measurement accuracy. With a 60mK thermal sensitivity and an improved spatial resolution of 0.65mrad, the camera is said to gives crisp, superior image quality. Temperature analysis is enhanced with on-screen moveable spots, auto hot/cold, area boxes, line profile, isotherms, delta T and alarms.

The G96 has an MPEG thermal video recording feature built into the camera for burst recording of the thermal scene. The MPEG recording is stored directly on the 4GB SD card for a total of four hours of continuous recording. Recorded sequences can be played back on the camera or any general media player.

Images and sequences stored on the SATIR G96 camera can now be transferred via WiFi thanks to the on-board adaptor. Most WiFi-enabled devices can be connected with the G96 for file transfer, with no need to connect cables or plug the camera into a docking station.

Removable display

The G96 has a new 5inch LCD for improved viewing and is user-switchable between viewfinder and LCD. The 5inch TFT LCD is incorporated into the camera handle, which separates from the camera body to allow full remote control of the camera and for the user to work from safer distances.

Annotation on the SATIR G96 is via text and voice. The image, text and voice annotation are transferred automatically to the reporting software, which speeds up post-processing and report generation.

SATIR Duo-Vision is standard on the G96, which gives the thermographer the option to record a thermal picture, visual image or an overlay of the two images. Duo-vision helps identify targets and the thermal image transparency can be adjusted between 0-100 per cent to locate problems in the scene more quickly.

Optional lenses, software and accessories are available to enhance the G96 thermal camera and widen its field of applications.

Typical applications for the G96 include electrical inspection, mechanical systems, electronic inspection, scientific and non-destructive testing thermography.
