See SafetyEYE in action at MACH 2008

Pilz Automation Technology will be on stand 4371 at MACH 2008 (NEC, Birmingham, 21-25 April) demonstrating the innovative SafetyEYE vision-based machinery safety monitoring system. In addition, visitors can to benefit from free machinery safety advice by having confidential discussions with Pilz consultants.

MACH will provide an excellent opportunity to see SafetyEYE, the camera-based safety system for monitoring three-dimensional zones around robots, machine tools and other hazards. This will be the first time that SafetyEYE has been exhibited in the UK. Compared with traditional physical guards and products such as safety light curtains, SafetyEYE can deliver substantial cost savings through faster installation and set-up, as well as reduced maintenance requirements. In addition, it can help achieve more flexible working and, therefore, higher productivity.

Machinery safety services

While SafetyEYE will be one focus on its stand, Pilz will also be promoting its portfolio of machinery safety services. Pilz engineers and consultants will be available for no-obligation discussions with visitors who specify, buy, use or supply machinery. While advice can be provided on all aspects of machinery safety, the main topics likely to be discussed with visitors to MACH will be risk assessments, PUWER assessments, plant assessments, CE marking and ESPE (safety light curtain) inspection and certification. The consultants can also suggest how to use modern safety technologies to raise machinery throughput and achieve both rapid payback and enhanced safety.

Visitors are welcome to meet the Pilz staff on the stand at any time, but it is recommended that an appointment be made in advance of the event to ensure that the consultant or engineer with the most appropriate industry or technology knowledge is available at a convenient time. Appointments can be made by emailing [email protected].

Another service offered by Pilz is safety-related training courses. Staff will be on hand to talk about these with exhibition visitors, and a high level of interest is anticipated for the nationally-recognised City & Guilds courses. These include a Four-Day Machinery Safety Course and a Two-Day Machinery Safety Course for Managers. Pilz also runs IOSH Managing Safely courses, as well courses designed specifically for machine builders, designers of hard-wired safety circuits, and those responsible for maintaining plant and machinery. Other courses focus on legislation and standards such as BS EN 61508, EN IEC 62061 and EN ISO 13849-1.

To see SafetyEYE in action, discuss machinery safety issues with highly competent consultants, or find out more about training courses, visit the Pilz stand, number 4371, in Hall 4 at the NEC from 21-25 April 2008. If you require tickets to attend the show, contact Pilz by emailing [email protected], or email [email protected] to make an appointment with a consultant.
