EMKA has introduced new self-adhesive gaskets that are approved to hygiene standard VDI 6022
EMKA gasket sealing profiles for enclosures, cabinets and machinery applications are available in many thicknesses and widths of self-adhesive closed cell EPDM or Chloroprene rubber (CR), backed with non-stretch self-adhesive tape. The company has now added self-adhesive gaskets to the range, and has recently received certification to hygiene standard VDI 6022 for the new product.
In addition to the uses described above, these sections are also said to suit specialist vehicles and electrical/electronic cabinets, as well as street furniture. Standard stock dimensions available are from 30mm width up to 80mm with depths between 5mm and 40mm in coils or strips dependent upon the specified thickness.
For custom applications EMKA can provide punched flat form gaskets to specific drawings which makes them also suitable for wider applications in hygiene related areas, as well as motor vehicles, railway carriages, and off-road trucks and machines. Fire trucks, coaches and motor homes are other key application areas that the company points to for the gaskets. EMKA offer a bespoke custom design service – and where there is a requirement for a really different profile the EMKA team will work with project leaders to design, develop and produce specials to suit specific needs.
