The new RS25 register sensors by SICK can be used in various print mark processes for print control and monitoring applications. They fulfil ATEX standards for use in explosive environments. Linked with the processing unit via fibre-optic cable, its scanning unit uses RGB light to identify even critical marks.
These intelligent sensors are equipped with the real-time Ethernet POWERLINK as their communication platform. This allows for the fast data exchange a growing complexity, a rising number of axes and sustained trends toward higher speeds in print machines. A minimised jitter below 4 microseconds facilitates top repeatability, and implementation of the register control within the PLC software enables cost reduction and elevated ease of use in real time.
