Advantech is launching a pair of server chassis, the 4U HPC-7442 and 2U HPC-7242, featuring new industrial designs that are described as a breakthrough from the traditional line of industrial PCs. They provide users with intelligent, high-performance operating platforms that can serve as NVR and DVR servers for video surveillance applications and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) servers for applications in factory automation, BEMS and so on, all apps with high storage demands.
HPC-7442 and HPC-7242 support versatile EATX and ATX motherboards, with a highly efficient switching power supply and easy-to-maintain cooling fans. They provide at least four SAS/SATA HDD trays, which offer flexible options for data storage. Other data storage choices include one slim-type drive bay for an optical disk drive, and one or two drive bays for internal hard drives. The alarm module monitors system status such as power, HDD, temperature, fan, and LAN, to maximise system uptime. Fan speed is controlled according to chassis internal temperature, optimising system power consumption and minimising noise. A wide range of standard computing peripherals can be integrated with these chassis to accommodate robust, 24/7 applications in rugged environments.
HPC-7442 and HPC-7242 are designed for SCADA applications. When combined with ASMB-782G2 and AIMB-701G2 industrial motherboards, the systems provide secure, reliable SCADA servers systems to vertical applications in factory automation, environmental monitoring, transportation, and BEMS (building energy management systems), offering robust connectivity, remote manageability, flexible display support, and leading edge computing technology.
HPC-7442 and HPC-7242 will be available from late June, 2013. For more information, please visit the website at www.advantech.com or contact your local sales representatives.
