Simatic Mobile Panel 277 Wireless includes safety functions

The Mobile Panel 277 Wireless has a 7.5inch TFT touch display and 18 LED membrane-type keys. Its 6MB of memory can be supplemented with an additional memory card for archive and recipe data. Interfaces for connecting the panel to Profinet as well as a USB interface are also standard.

When configuring the device, the user is supported by the WinCC flexible 2007 engineering software to define 'effective ranges' in which the machine can be controlled by the operator. A transponder limits the effective ranges in which the device can be identified locally, which ensures fail-safe operator control and clear assignment of the appropriate operating screens and operator authorisations anywhere in the plant. The transponder can also be used to define zones in which certain functions are configured, such as automatic on-screen display or operator authorisations for particular persons when they enter the zone.

Sealed to IP65 and capable of surviving a drop drop from 1.2m, the device is especially suitable for use in tough industrial environments. The battery can be changed without interrupting operation.

If required, the device is also available without the safety functions.
