EMG-Long is using HBM's sensors, FASTpress amplifiers and software for optimising the performance of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical presses with capacities ranging from from 360kg to 65 tons.
HBM's latest FASTpress concept is helping to ensure increased precision and efficiency in modern automated presses to meet the demanding requirements of modern assembly and production lines.
The company's force and displacement sensors, installed at different assembly stations, can be easily connected to the MP85A FASTpress two-channel amplifier. This combination provides advanced process control and offers high security at high pressing speeds to minimise production cycle times.
Specifically tailored to the needs of modern press and assembly systems, the FASTpress Suite software package reduces set-up times and enables rapid start-up as well as ease of handling. The software includes various customisation features and powerful statistical modules.
FASTpress users can benefit immediately from online statistical analysis and production scheduling via a touch screen. The software's algorithms detect tool and machine wear to continuously improve the efficiency of presses.
Press operations, quality results and measurement curves are stored on the integrated memory card in the MP85A FASTpress, or directly in a PC. A standard Ethernet interface is available for maintenance tasks and for connecting presses to a control system. Additionally, mobile press monitoring can be achieved with a PDA device via a wireless LAN.
EMG-Long of France relies on the high performance of FASTpress for the automated assembly of luxury watches as well as for quality assurance. EMG is a leading specialist in the manufacture of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical presses with capacities ranging from from 360kg to 65 tons.
