SMC to showcase specialised products at Photovoltaic 2012

SMC will once again be at the 27th EU Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (PVSEC) & Exhibition 2012, Germany. At the exhibition, taking place at Messe, Frankfurt Fairground from 25-28 September, SMC will showcase its range of highly specialised products for European c-SI Cell, Module and Thin Film manufacturing lines from its specially designed 72m2 stand in Hall 3, Booth 3.0 D12.

Recently voted one of the world's most innovative companies by business magazine Forbes for the second successive year, SMC will also deliver a keynote presentation at PVSEC 2012 entitled "Optimise your process with components for cooling water from SMC'. The presentation by SMC's specialist Dominik Lewin will concentrate on the importance of precise temperature control in the highly technical PV manufacturing process, especially when it comes to cooling, in order to guarantee quality is maintained throughout the process.

Playing a starring role in both the presentation and the exhibition will be SMC's "cool' part, the HRS thermo-chiller. The HRS can operate with circulating fluid temperatures between 5-40degC, deliver precise temperature control with outstanding stability of +/-0.1degC and has a cooling capacity of 5100W.

Sharing the limelight, will be SMC's PF3W flow switch which complements the HRS by checking the performance of the lead part. Compact and highly visible due to its 2-colour and rotary display, it is designed to work with cooling fluids up to 90degC. And thanks to its in-built temperature sensor, both flow and fluid temperature can be monitored at the same time.

Visitors to PVSEC 2012 will also get to see SMC's vacuum products for lift and transfer applications including ejectors, air suction filters, vacuum and peek pads as well as cyclone pads, which prevent bending and damaging vibrations of delicate workpieces by enabling lifting without any contact. Other highlights on the stand will include high vacuum products for use in 10-6Pa applications and a large range of Teflon products suitable for aggressive or corrosive fluids.

All the products on display will demonstrate SMC's range of products for handling, control, transfer and high-vacuum processes, all of which help overcome specific PV-related issues such as the need for fast and safe handling of cells and a uniform deposition layer.

Visitors to SMC's stand in Hall 3 will be welcomed by a selected team of multinational and multilingual experts who will be on-hand to answer any questions.
