Spelsberg claims largest selection of non-metallic enclosures

Having recently moved into larger premises and added several new lines of polycarbonate, GRP and fire-resistant enclosures - plus employed more staff and purchased a new CNC machine; Spelsberg UK is claiming to offer the widest range of non-metallic enclosures available direct from UK stock.

Chris Lloyd, Spelsberg UK MD, comments: "Range and availability are really key drivers in the enclosure marketplace today. Customers want a product that fits their requirements exactly, and is available now. We supply a large number of OEM clients direct, end users, contractors and popular on-line and over-the-counter electrical distribution organisations, and as such quality and service are a given rather than a demand to be met.

"Our enclosures are used mainly for housing electrical junctions, switchgear and smaller electrical and electronic devices. But, in order to provide effectively a "˜plastic box' for virtually any application, we have to offer a vast range of shapes, sizes, materials and configurations; as well as a comprehensive population, assembly and customisation service. We have to cater for customers that require apertures, clear lids or doors, terminal blocks, cable glands, DIN rail, PCBs, switchgear, thermostats, screens and buttons already fitted to or within their enclosure.

"We even offer a couple of ranges of modular enclosures that can be made into a required configuration, the GTi and TK ranges for example can be connected together to make any size enclosure, right up to housing fully populated electrical panels. Materials range from cost effective indoor materials for small junction boxes, such as ABS derivatives, to tough, UV-stable polycarbonates and even high impact-resistant outdoor GRP enclosures.

"We then have a huge range of special application enclosures designed for more specific tasks such as the connection of solar panels; housing distribution boards; adding display screens, membrane keypads and overlays to terminal boxes; and housing devices such as thermostats and RFID equipment - the list goes on. If you combine all the box sizes and types, materials and options, we now offer several thousand individual products, easily the widest range kept in-stock in the UK."

If that isn't enough Spelsberg will also produce customised tooling to mould specific enclosures to a customer's specification. The entire range is manufactured to high quality standards in Germany and modified and assembled by an experienced team in the UK.
