Spring expertise aids development of LegUp LandinGear

Lee Spring Engineering has worked with a supplier of an innovative product that helps motorcycle enthusiasts to continue riding even when a physical disability would otherwise make it difficult or even impossible.

Spring expertise aids development of LegUp LandinGear

Chopper Design has created an innovative product called LegUp LandinGear that incorporates Lee Spring torsion springs. The new product was designed to help disabled riders, or those with knee or hip problems, support a heavy motorbike at slower speeds. A set of small wheels automatically deploys as the machine slows down to speeds below 8mph if the rider is unable to support the bike. As the bike accelerates, the wheels retract automatically so that they do not interfere with the performance or handling at higher speeds.

This is just one of the many ways in which Lee Spring products and design expertise can help engineers to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.
