Special presentations and joint stands offer additional opportunities for visitors to hear from exhibitors and other experts such as professional associations.

Special Presentation: Applied Automation

The VDMA, "Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.", (German Engineering Federation) presents solutions for the automation of customermanufacturing facilities in Hall 6, within the framework of the special presentation "Applied Automation". Numerous presentations by users will demonstrate how manufacturing products and systems can be applied to the customer's advantage. Examples from various sectors will be given, including the packaging industry, logistics and handling technology.

Wireless in Automation Joint Stand

After a positive feedback last year, a joint stand featuring "Wireless in Automation" will again be presented in Hall 8. Companies offer their wireless automation solutions on Stand 8-402. Presentations and lectures on "Wireless in Automation" will be held in the 'Speakers' Corner', under the leadership of Prof. Jörg Wollert from the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum.

AMA Centre for Sensors and Measuring and Testing Technology

The joint stand "AMA Centre for Sensors and Measuring and Testing Technology", is taking place for the second time at SPS/IPC/DRIVES in co-operation with the "AMA Fachverband fr Sensorik e.V. " (AMA Association for Sensor Technology). Members of the associationare exhibitingin Hall 7A on stands 7A-540, 7A-546 and 7A-550, all under one roof.

LINUX in Automation Joint Stand

The topic "LINUX in Automation" will also be presented on a joint stand in 2006 where companies will be showing their LINUX-based solutions for automation. The stand is located in Hall 7A, Stand 7A-640. The partner in presenting this stand is "LIVE Linux Verband e.V." (LIVE Linux Association). OSADL eG Open Source Automation Development Lab is exhibiting at SPS/IPC/DRIVES for the first time. Both organisations represent professional application of LINUX in automation.
