Squirrel SQ2010 data logger is portable and versatile
Grant Instruments is introducing the Squirrel SQ2010, a powerful and portable, handheld data logger designed for mobile data logging applications such as for field research and external engineering projects (eg environmental projects, service or commissioning systems or processes, in food manufacture and research and in all general engineering and manufacturing production projects).
With its ultra-compact size, intuitive graphical display and very easy configuration, the new Squirrel SQ2010 is ready to use straight from the box. The rapid set-up is achieved via its integral four-button operator interface - giving accurate (better than 0.1 per cent) and reliable results within minutes of switching on. The Squirrel SQ2010 also boasts excellent battery life for unattended logging.
This highly flexible, multi-purpose logger has four differential (or eight single-ended) analogue input channels to measure current, voltage, resistance and temperature, and eight event inputs. All eight event inputs can either be logged or used as triggers to automatically start or stop logging.
The onboard memory can store up to 1.8million readings as well as retain up to six separate logger configurations. The unit is able to fulfil many data logging needs, including more demanding applications requiring up to 10 readings per second on one channel.
In addition, the Squirrel SQ2010 features two pulse rate/counter inputs (one at 64kHz, one at up to 100Hz), two alarm/relay outputs, and a high-specification 24-bit analogue-to-digital converter to facilitate concurrent sampling. The new logger is powered from internal cells, an external power supply or via USB connection.
Built-in communications
The onboard RS232 communications can be connected to a modem, a wireless interface or an Ethernet converter to facilitate system networking and the remote transmission of data. SquirrelView set-up and download software for a PC is provided as part of the system to enable users to export stored data to a chosen PC based application.
The Squirrel SQ2010 is compatible with Grant's comprehensive range of temperature probes and with commercially available sensors for measuring a variety of physical parameters. Grant's portfolio of Squirrel accessories includes protective enclosures and communications and networking peripherals (Wi-Fi, GSM and Ethernet options).
Grant's Squirrel SQ2010 is the latest in the company's range of data acquisition products designed to satisfy the most demanding data collection requirements across industrial, scientific, R&D and environmental applications. The data acquisition product range extends from high-specification, portable data logging systems (Squirrel family) through to fully-integrated custom-configurable acquisition and control systems (dataTaker family).
