Lafert's Marlin stainless steel motors are designed specifically to meet the high hygiene requirements of the food and drink industries. They will be on display at the PPMA Total show, on Stand No. A24 together with examples of the company's IE2, IE3, IE4 and IE5-compliant motors, plus a sample range of customised motors.
Lafert's "Marlin' IP66 stainless steel motors are proven to save money through reduced failures and consequent downtime and engineering costs. They are smooth bodied with no crevices/recesses to capture and harbour material build-up to cause hygiene issues. They will not rust and have no paint to flake-off thereby minimising contamination risks. Being IP66 rated the motors can be high-pressure hose cleaned promoting easy, effective cleaning.
A range of stainless steel gearboxes are also available to complete the hygienic package.
Marlin power ratings are 0.18 to 7.5kW in metric frame sizes up to 132 as TEFC machines. Smaller units (up to 0.75kW) are also available from 63 frame size as TENV machines.
Lafert's IE2 to IE5 motors can be offered as standard units but non-standard configurations are often the norm, with over 90 per cent of production being engineered to customer requirements having different combinations of special shafts, flanges, windings etc.
