Mechan Controls believes it has one the largest range of stainless steel non-contact safety switches in the world. Each switch is individually cast in 316 grade stainless steel which is very robust and sturdy.

All stainless steel switches are IP67 and IP69K rated, making them ideal for food processing, pharmaceutical, beverage and Petrochemical industries. All of Mechan’s safety switches achieve CAT4 SIL3 and PL-e.

The stainless steel range has the exact same fixtures and fittings as the standard plastic range, which makes swapping out a plastic version for a stainless steel version very simple. It's most popular due to its value for money and reliability, it fits perfectly within today's growing companies where cost is a consideration and offers the same safety level as any other safety switches on the market.

The HE range is versatile and robust, and it offers better protection from shock and vibration due to it being a solid-state switch. An LED incorporated into the HE range design makes it easier to fault find. Finally, a medium to high-level range of coding will significantly reduce the risk of defeatability.

The RSSG is a uniquely coded RFID safety switch. It is cast in 316 stainless steel for reliability in high wash-down environment and durability. Each RSSG safety switch is coded in production with its accompanying actuator. It incorporates a built-in LED display for easy fault finding.

Mechan’s hygienic range of safety switches has the same technology as the Magnasafe range, including the same fixtures and fittings. The only difference is the housing shape and finish: each of the hygienic safety switches are designed to reduce the number of bacteria that is caught within the switch, also using an Ra 0.4 polished/mirror finish to comply with the EHEDG guidelines.

The SafeLine4 Grabwire is the first product in Mechan Controls Grabwire safety pull cord switches, cast in 316 Stainless steel and rated to IP69K. It provides two lenses to make tensioning visible from all angles, E/Stop and non-E/Stop options, two normally closed two normally open or three normally closed and one normally open output contacts.

The Mechan trapped key system is a method of controlling access to dangerous machinery or areas. This works by trapping a key in a lock which disables a machine so that guard doors can be opened and employees can work in the area. This ensures that the machine cannot be restarted until all the guard doors are closed, according to ISO 14118:2017 “To prevent unexpected (unintended) start-up due to unintended generation of start commands (including those generated within the control system itself)”.
