SteelFace inductive sensors resist physical and chemical attack

Balluff SteelFace inductive proximity sensors are designed and built to survive longer in the abusive applications. Machined from a single piece of stainless steel, the sensor's housing has an integral 1mm-thick steel face that is resistant to impacts, chemicals, cutting fluids and abrasion.

SteelFace inductive sensors resist physical and chemical attack

Compared with continually replacing plastic-faced sensors that have suffered damage, the Steelface sensors offer considerable savings in lifetime costs through reduced downtime and maintenance expenditure.

Available in M8, M12, M18 and M30 sizes (shielded and unshielded), these sensors do not compromise sensing range for increased durability, achieving the same sensing range as Balluff's standard proximity sensors. Additionally a series of 2x or 3x extended sensing range enables users to mount the sensors further away from the target, thereby minimising the risk of impact damage. Special variants are available such as PTFE-coated housings to repel weld spatter, and ferrous- or non-ferrous-selective electronics to sense a different metals.

Whether for metal processing in machine tools, foods production or in automobile manufacturing, the rugged Steelface sensors welcome the challenge of extreme environments.
