Lindapter is launching a second generation of its highly popular Steelwork Fixings Designer online steelwork fixings design software, adding many more beam sizes and improving the user interface. The powerful tool presents the correct fixings for most common applications within a couple of minutes. Users are automatically emailed a drawing of the solution for their project records, and they can also request a quote. The tool is located at www.lindapter.com/selector.
Steelwork Fixings Designer uses images and pop-out menus to take users rapidly through the selection process. Just three steps are needed: select the type of steel to be connected to from images showing wide flange, S-beam, channel and truss sections; a second screen then graphically shows the most common forms of connection; click on one, and the user then just needs to identify the top and bottom beam sizes from a pop-out menu and enter the load. The fixing solution is then calculated automatically.
Lindapter's fixings - which require no welding or on-site drilling - are displayed in the form of 2D drawings, with the source data and fixing bill-of-materials detailed alongside. This drawing is automatically emailed to the user, and kept on file at Lindapter to help with any queries a user might have. The system will also generate a quote by clicking on a button above the drawing.
