Systeco automates citrus fruit packing line for Siyalima Farm

Systeco Automation has provided a fully automated packaging line for Siyalima Farm, ensuring the citrus fruit packing lines are running at optimal speed and capacity at all times.

Central to the operation is an automated system to empty the bins of fruit onto the packing line, and then stack the bins ready for refilling.

Operators control the system via an HMI, containing the settings and information to ensure the line is always running at optimal speed. Every variety of the fruit the company handles is preset into the HMI, with changeover from one product to another at the push of a button.

The HMI also indicates any motor trip on the line, highlighting the issue and where the fault lies, as well as how to correct it. The location of the fault is also identified by signal towers on each control panel. The client also receives a telephone notification of the fault, and the location of the relevant control panel.
