Teseo introduces 110mm HBS pipework system

Following the success of the Teseo 110mm internal diameter Hollow Bar System (HBS) throughout mainland Europe, Teseo UK is showcasing the system at the Machine Building 2007 exhibition. With this latest addition, Teseo UK claims to have the most versatile and flexible range of modular pipework systems available in the UK, with sizes from 14mm to 110mm.

Teseo introduces 110mm HBS pipework system

Previously marketed by Ingersoll Rand as Simplair, Teseo's HBS modular air line systems are primarily used for the main distribution line and manifolds on machines or automatic lines. The 110mm HBS system is particularly suitable for heavier industries, since its 100,000dm3/min ANR flow rate capacity is the equivalent to a 6inch steel pipe. The industries suited to the 110mm are many and varied, but typically include aerospace engineering plants and vehicle manufacturers through to producers of pharmaceutical goods.

The Teseo HBS system is not subject to corrosion created by condensate, unlike traditional steel pipe installations. Plus, the system's extruded aluminium square outer section provides additional strength and durability over round piping. The smoothness of the internal surface ensures low air flow friction and guarantees high performance in terms of flow rates and pressure reduction, thereby significantly improving efficiency.

Easier and quicker to install

Teseo HBS modular air line systems are said to be much easier and quicker to install than steel pipe work. It takes 30 per cent less time to install a Teseo HBS system than it does to install an equivalent steel air line system, at no extra cost.

The HBS system provides the assembly of industrial piping systems with several technical advantages when compared with traditional steel pipe. As with all the Teseo HBS systems, there is no welding, threading or painting required. In fact, the double 0-ring design ensures the system remains leak-free, thereby reducing energy costs year after year.

Modularity and quick connections permit a speed of installation and modification of the plant that affords much more flexibility. It is easy to adapt when extending or moving flow lines in accordance with operational demands. The system can even be modified by the client, which minimises factory downtime and labour.

Accessories

There are many accessories available that can be fitted to all four sides of the lightweight 63mm, 80mm and 110mm Teseo HBS systems, providing additional flexibility over traditional steel piping.

Commenting on the addition of the Teseo HBS 110mm, Pat Connolly, Managing Director of Teseo UK, says: "Whilst the established range of Teseo HBS sizes from 25-80mm accounts for the majority of industrial requirements, there is certainly a significant market for the 110mm Teseo HBS system, as shown by the response from the rest of Europe since its launch two years ago. One of our distributors has recently carried out an installation with 110mm HBS where ABS was originally specified and the end user is delighted with the result, both in terms of looks and cost."
