Thomas N Schermerhorn appointed President of CTC

Thomas N Schermerhorn has been appointed the new President of Control Technology Corporation. He joins CTC from Acushnet Company, the manufacturer of Titleist golf balls.

Ken Crater, CTC's chairman, comments: "We are delighted to have Tom Schermerhorn rejoin CTC. Tom's leadership and commitment to customer service is well demonstrated, and his recent work at Acushnet has given him a customer's perspective on CTC, as well as on other companies in our market."

The appointment comes at an important time for CTC, with the recently announced completion of the 5300 series of programmable automation controllers. The flagship product line includes advanced motion capabilities in conjunction with data acquisition and reporting, web-based HMI and conventional analogue and digital control.

Prior to working at Acushnet, Schermerhorn was an integral part of Control Technology Corporation for 17 years, where he held VP positions in Engineering and Systems Engineering as well as various roles in sales, marketing and product development. Throughout his time at CTC, customers recognised him for his creative problem-solving approach to their challenges. Schermerhorn is known for his customer-oriented research, defining real-time/long-term goals and refining them into well crafted automation systems. Many of these have become the core technology of subsequent CTC hardware and software products.

Schermerhorn's charter is to advance the global presence of CTC via strategic partnerships and new product development, and to achieve a superior level of customer satisfaction.
