Torque synchros for rotation angle control

Torque synchros from Astrosyn International Technology are used to transmit and receive angular variation data from a rotating shaft with extreme accuracy over a large distance. This demanding requirement is often accompanied by the need to operate reliably for many years without maintenance in harsh environments.

Astrosyn's model D1356 is a single-shaft synchro which operates on 200/220V at 50/60Hz and features transmitter/receiver TX-TR functionality. Its rugged build is matched to applications in hot, dusty and humid environments such as ships' engine rooms, wind tunnels and steel mills. In these situations precise angular positioning of motor-driven surfaces can be controlled and adjusted with critical accuracy using the transmitter-receiver feedback loop.

The model D1356 synchro operates with a maximum receiver angular error of less than 1 degree and has a transmitter/receiver synchronising time of less than 5 seconds. Electrical connections are via rear-mounted screw terminals and six mounting holes are provided on the motor flange.
