TRUMPF at Northern Manufacturing Show

At this year's Northern Manufacturing show, TRUMPF will be demonstrating a range of metalworking technologies but, more than ever, the focus will be on production flexibility to enable manufacturers to extend their scope of work and boost profitability. Indeed, one of its latest introductions is a software product called TruTops Boost which will be demonstrated for the first time in the UK at the Northern Manufacturing Show.

The core TRUMPF technologies - punching, profiling and bending - will of course feature too. The company's punch press that was introduced to the UK earlier this year will demonstrate how automatic production can be economical, even when operated at low capacity. It can be supplied as a stand-alone machine or complete with SheetMaster Compact automation and both can be comfortably accommodated where production space is an issue.

A TruBend 3066 will represent the company's press brake range, a machine that is also characterised by its space-saving design. Automatic crowning ensures consistent angles, and high axis speeds make this model one of the fastest in its class. Thanks to its low investment cost and ease of operation, the TruBend 3066 is well suited to those new to manual bending.

TRUMPF is not just a developer of innovative production machinery but of complementary software also. TruTops Boost is an example of how the combination of both can substantially improve manufacturing efficiency. The software's new operating philosophy allows users to work with automation, or interactively, or a combination of them both.

Production experts from the TRUMPF TruServices team will be on the stand throughout the show to offer advice on tooling, process optimisation and part design.

Another longstanding TRUMPF strength is laser marking. It has also made the process fast, economical and reliable, qualities that will be demonstrated on the stand by the brand new TruMark Station 3000 with TruMark 5010 laser. This machine is suitable for those who need to ensure traceability in small and medium-sized production runs; it is available in a compact desktop version or as a stand-alone unit with a base.

Completing the stand will be full details of the TRUMPF TruServices programme, including the MyTRUMPF support portal, punching/bending tools and spares. There will also be the TRUMPF TruTool range of portable fabrication tools available to try. Models include the new TruTool DD1010 Power Drill with Li-Ion battery, a powerful 2-speed motor and quick stop function and the TruTool TSC100 slat cleaner for removing accumulated slag from flat-bed laser machines.
