TurboCAD Professional v14 now available in UK
TurboCAD Professional v14, a powerful CAD application, has been launched by Avanquest Software, a leading publisher of business and consumer software for the global PC market. This latest version of TurboCAD, priced £423 + VAT, is claimed to deliver unparalleled design productivity and dramatic visual results with integrated 2D drafting, 3D photorealistic rendering and 3D surface and solid modelling.

Mechanical CAD advancements in the latest version include:
- New Face-to-Face Lofting. Select two faces on different 3D objects and instantly build a lofting body to unite them.
- New Branch Lofting. Manage both simple and compound profiles for one trunk and two (or more) branches, minimising what once took several operations.
- Latest ACIS v16 Solid Modelling Engine.
- New Improved Part Tree. Suppress any operation and delay update for quick 'what if' scenarios. Hide portions of the Part Tree for re-rendering.
- New Constraint Tool - Angular Dimension for Arcs. Change the value of the angular dimension and watch it automatically update.
Performance and other enhancements include:
- Selection Information Palette. Put all information about an object into one palette for quick access and editing, making it even easier to see the properties of any object in your design. Now integrated with the Part Tree as well.
- Compound Profiles in Blocks. A major enhancement to block handling, Compound Profiles can be generated, stored and edited in a block section to save valuable time.
- Smart Dimension Tool. Faster, more efficient annotation of drawings. Automatically recognises and creates the correct dimension type for numerous different features.
- Geometric Alignment Aids. Offers superior auxiliary line presentation and improved snapping to speed design.
- Wall Dimension Tool. Quickly assign dimensions to any straight wall, including thickness. Place dimensions in parallel or at an angle from wall.
- Delayed Paperspace Render. Control when and how your Viewports in Paperspace will render.
- Chamfer Angle Option. Specify the exact angle to be used in the Chamfer Command.
- Multi-line Text. Indent lines and paragraphs or create any number of tab stops.
- Region Improvement. Creating a region from selected objects or by 2D Boolean operations is now up to eight times faster.
- Extended Node editing for cubes, cylinders and cones.
- Foreground Hidden Line. Open up a world of presentation possibilities by overlaying hidden lines on top of draft and quality rendered images.
- Improved Linear Dimensions Import from DWG. Better, more enhanced conversion of linear dimensions from an AutoCAD drawing into a TurboCAD drawing.
