Two new appointments to Altra Industrial Couplings' sales team
Power transmission component specialist Altra Industrial Motion is expanding its sales force with the appointment of two new people at its coupling division. Andrew Bargh and Neil Slater both join the team with a wealth of experience in sales and engineering, ready to represent some of the best-known names in the coupling industry including Bibby, Huco, TB Woods and Ameridrives.
Andrew Bargh, Altra Global Product Manager for torque control products, started his career 30 years ago as an apprentice in mechanical handling. Since then he has developed his mechanical knowledge and spent the past 14 years in various sales roles, the most recent of which was for Huco as Area Sales Manager. His prior experience with Altra products puts him in good stead to carry out his role of developing Altra's torque control products and expanding its global customer base.
Andrew comments: "Having worked with Altra for the past four years I know that it is an exciting company to work for; one that encourages a pro-active approach and expects continued growth. My new role will allow me to educate existing and potential customers on the products within our range and develop our products to meet the requirements of emerging markets."
Neil Slater, Area Sales Manager for Northern UK, began his career as an apprentice at a pump manufacturer, working with rotational equipment, before serving with the Royal Mechanical Engineers, where he was responsible for equipment maintenance and specialised in electrical engineering. Prior to joining Altra he worked as an applications engineer for a mechanical seals company in which he was responsible for internal sales.
Neil comments: "I was looking to make a change in my career and Altra provided an exciting opportunity to apply my sales and technical skills with a developing company. I will be responsible for selling coupling and overrunning clutch products from Birmingham to Inverness."
David Lockett, Huco and Bibby MD, adds: "The Industrial Couplings division of Altra has enjoyed great success over the last two years, thanks in part to the fantastic people here and the breadth of product that we have available. These appointments will help to continue this growth and I'm sure both Neil and Andrew will thrive in their new roles."
