Uniblock helical worm gearboxes offered with epoxy coatings

Watt Drive, the Austrian gearbox, geared motor and drives manufacturer, is now offering its complete range of Uniblock helical worm gearboxes with an extended choice of epoxy resin coatings to suit hostile environments and extremely high-hygiene areas. The range is complemented by Watt Drives' IEC framed stainless steel motors for challenging applications found in food and beverage production, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, waste and water treatment, and corrosive materials processing. The Watt Drive range is available in the UK from Motion Drives and Controls Ltd.

The Uniblock helical worm gearbox range offers a wide choice of reduction ratios with seven model sizes covering power ratings from 0.12-7.5 kW and torque outputs between 70-1300Nm. The high-efficiency, oil-filled units include double-chamber HNBR shaft seals to guarantee complete sealing, and the robust EN-GJL-200 grey cast iron housing features comprehensive mounting options and a smooth modular design that resists dirt build-up.

A choice of three-, four- or five-layer, 2K epoxy coating suits environments ranging from spray and washdown through to water submersion and acid/alkali vapour atmospheres. Specifically for food industry applications, the gear units are modified with food-grade lubricant and stainless steel drive shafts with the recommended choice of epoxy coating system to suit the ambient conditions. In this way costs may be matched to the exact application requirements with the geared motor unit fulfilling the maximum life and minimum downtime for maintenance.

Uniblock helical worm gear units are designed for ambient temperatures between -20 to +40degC. Special versions with modified oil, sealing and bearing systems can be supplied on request for high- or low-temperature applications.

Watt Drives stainless steel motors cover IEC frame sizes 63-132 with 2-, 4- and 6-pole windings and power ratings between 0.18-7.5 kW. The totally-enclosed, non-ventilated (TENV) design conforms to IC410 European standards and IP66. The smooth polished stainless steel frame resists dirt build-up and double-lip oil seals and gamma seals help to ensure a completely hose-proof design.

Watt Drive also offers a comprehensive range of drive electronics covering inverters, soft starters, controls and display devices, accessories and software to match application requirements.
