Updated free practical guide to the Machinery Directive
Laidler Associates, part of the machinery division of TUV SUD Product Service, has published a new version of its booklet A practical guide to machinery safety, which is now available to download for free from the company's website, or hard copies can be requested. The easy-to-read guide is now at Edition 4 and has been updated to cover the latest information on legislation including the EMC and Low Voltage Directives (LVD) and the most recent changes to the Machinery Directive. It also covers risk assessment and hazard analysis, and provides step-by-step advice on CE marking and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
Commenting on the updates to the guide, Paul Laidler of Laidler Associates says: "Things have moved on since the first publication of this guide and the response that we have received regarding its usefulness to those dealing with machinery safety has been really positive. As before, the guide aims to benefit both machine builders and end users and, because both sides need a good understanding of the legislation and processes surrounding machinery safety, this guide will help bridge the gap in understanding between the two."
