Vacon extrends agreement with Eaton Electrical Group
Vacon will extend its supplier agreement with US-based Eaton Corporation with regard to variable-speed AC drive technology. Vacon will provide Eaton with its design expertise and variable-frequency drive hardware.
Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Vacon, says: "Vacon and Eaton established a strategic alliance in 1998. During the past 10 years, our relationship has deepened considerably, and today the entire Vacon product line from our smallest to the biggest megawatt-class AC drive is available under Eaton's name."
Robert Fenton, Eaton's product line manager, solid-state power control components, says: "This agreement enables Eaton to merge Vacon's products with its advanced technology and application expertise. The resulting drives products allow Eaton to provide solutions to a broad range of industrial, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and construction markets worldwide."
Eaton will promote its variable-frequency drive throughout its global organisation, including the recently acquired Moeller business. Eaton claims that through the acquisition of the Moeller business in the first quarter of 2008, it expanded its position as a worldwide supplier of electrical control products and power distribution, as well as power quality equipment and systems. Eaton now supplies controls for industrial equipment applications and components for commercial and residential building applications.
