Vacuum chambers use 20-40 per cent less energy

Unitemp is launching the compact, cost-effective and energy-efficient ESPEC VAC-101P / 201P / 301P vacuum chambers. It is claimed that energy savings of 20 to 40 per cent can be achieved thanks to ESPEC's advanced manufacturing processes that result in improved chamber sealing. These versatile chambers are primarily used for the testing of electronic and electrical components, materials, small assemblies and adhesives under low pressure. Under a low-pressure environment, specimens dry at a lower temperature, which reduces stress. The chambers can maintain temperatures within the range 40-200degC and the pressure pull-down range is from atmospheric to less than 133Pa, which can be obtained in 4-15 minutes, depending on the model.

An integral and easy-to-read control panel benefits from enhanced high-speed processing instrumentation, and a viewing port is built into the door. There are five operation modes available for pressure control. A wide variety of programs can be designed by combining constant-temperature operation and programmed operations. There are 40 pattern settings available, in which up 99 steps can be programmed for each operating pattern. During processing, excess fumes can be extracted, while the gas exchange operation mode prevents oxidation and removes impurities from the chamber.

Manufacture from stainless steel, the environmental test chambers have a capacity of 91-512 litres and internal dimensions of (W x H x D) 450 x 450 450mm and 800 x 800 x 800mm, and a weight of 320-610kg. They are mounted on castors for ease of movement and are provided with stabilising attachments when in position.

Unitemp says that these versatile chambers are suitable for applications in the electronic/electrical, laboratory, process and manufacturing industries. They complement the company's extensive range of test and monitoring chambers/ovens, and Unitemp also has the expertise to provide customised units to order.
